Power House is an outreach ministry focused on the kids & families in our local community. we show the light and love of jesus christ to those who are outside the 4 walls of the church.
What does Power House look like?
GAMES
This is a great time for kids to feel comfortable and let their guard down a bit, which helps them receive the message of Jesus. We play a variety of silly games and there are always lots of smiles and laughter!
WORSHIP
We sing a few up-tempo songs that the kids really enjoy and of course do some hand motions that go along to the lyrics of the songs. The kids get to learn about worship while having a great time worshipping God through singing, dancing, and jumping!
MESSAGE
Power House volunteers bring a kid-friendly Biblical message that meets kids where they are in life, encourages them with a word of hope, and invites them to enter a relationship with Jesus Christ. Every week kids are invited to accept Jesus as their savior if they would like to and hands are raised all over the place! Sometimes there are tears of joy, sometimes there are laughs, but every child is touched by the love of God at Power House!
We usually have 2 hot dog cook-outs every year and these are a great chance for us to bless these precious kids with hot dogs, chips, cookies, and lemonade.
Their faces light up when they get to eat to their fill and it gives us great joy to meet the needs of these kids both spiritually and physically!
Every year hundreds of kids and their families come to our Power House Christmas event. It's a time where we can pour into these families with the love of Jesus and meet their physical and spiritual needs.
We pack as many shoe boxes as possible full of gifts for all of the kids that attend. The donations of these packed shoe boxes and funds that are donated make this possible. Many of these kids would not have any Christmas presents if it weren't for this event.
We Play Games
There's a bit of a carnival atmosphere with a variety of games that we have set up and the kids love it! There's ring toss, basketball, cake walk, and much more!
We Eat Pizza
One of the ways we meet these families' physical needs is by feeding them a pizza dinner. They come into our cafeteria and get pizza, a drink, and cookies. We share the love of Christ by serving a meal to these families.
We Preach Salvation
We have all the families come into the worship center and they hear a message of salvation that is relevant for both the kids and their parents. They are encouraged and we invite them to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior at the end.
We Pass Out Gifts
As families are leaving, the kids get to pick up a gift on the way out and each box is specifically tailored to an age group and gender so we know the kids will love everything they receive! They go home feeling blessed, fed, encouraged, and they now know where their local home church is.
